Open Range - East Glacier, Montana
Open Range – One has to pay attention while pounding down the pavement in parts of Montana. The Blackfoot Reservation is, like a lot of places I’ve been – open range. There are fences of course – but there are also situations like this – where one can come over a rise and be confronted with large game animals in the road, horses, or cattle. One of the physicians where I work came blasting out of East Glacier and had to really climb on the binders to avoid hitting an elk. The elk wasn’t going to move – so the human had to stop. At San Carlos, Arizona – they routinely kill a few people a year in vehicle-animal collisions. Part of the price one pays for that “Western Experience.” Panasonic Lumix DMC LX2. Click on the image.
